Morning Glory

Morning Television has become very popular  over the past few years. It seems to be more popular in England and America than Ireland, like This Morning on Itv or Good Morning America on NBC.  Morning Glory is about a highly organised and dedicated television producer Becky Fuller, who agrees to take on the challenge of reviving a struggling morning television show, where the two hosts are anything but friends. Fuller played by Rachel McAdam's must try to convince Mike Pomeroy played by Harrison Ford to co-host the morning television show along side Collen Peck played by Diane Keaton who is not too thrilled that she will be working with Pomeroy. Morning Glory reminds me a bit of the movie "The Devil Wears Prada", which proved to be very popular with both male and female audiences. So maybe Morning Glory will have the same effect. Morning Glory is released on the 21st of January 2011.

Gulliver's Travels

The  world famous novel by Irish author Jonathan Swift has been turned into a hollywood movie like many other famous novels. Gulliver's Travels is about a travel writer Lemuel Gulliver played by Jack Black who has been given an assignment in Bermuda, but when the plans didn't go according to plan, he ends up on the island of Liliput, where all the inhabitants turn out to be very small and Gulliver towers over the tiny citizens. The movie also stars a great line up of comedy actors like Jason Segal, James Cordan, Billy Connolly, Catherine Tate and upcoming actress Emily Blunt. Gulliver's Travels hits the cinemas on the 26th of December 2010.  And I can safely say I will be going to see it for definite.

The Next Three Days

The Next Three Days is a new chilling thriller by the director of Crash. Russell Crowe stars as John Brennan , a normal guy, who's life gets turned upside down, when his wife Lara played by Elizabeth Banks is accused of murder. Brennan must try to prove that his wife is guilty, but seems to get nowhere with his research into the specific murder case. He then turns to more dangerous and illegal ways to free his wife and reunite his family. The film also stars Irish born actor Liam Neeson. The Next Three Days in my opinion looks like a great new movie, to trailer shows that the movie is full of suspense. I can only imagine that this movie will have us on the edge of our seats from start to finish. The Next Three Days is released on the 7th of January 2011 in all major cinemas.

Megamind

I know what you thinking, yet another animated movie in 3D, but I think Megamind looks to have a certain charm to it. Megamind is about  the super villain Megamind voiced  by Will Ferrell, who defeats his arch enemy, the loved hero Metro Man voiced by Brad Pitt. After his great victory in his opinion, Megamind finds his life dull and worthless because he has no hero to fight. But when he meets a new partner in crime, Titan voiced by Jonah Hill, who hatches an evil plan to destroy the world, Megamind is put in a position that he is not used to, he must be the hero and save the world. Tina Fey, Ben Stiller and David Cross also lend their voices to this animated adventure. The thing I was thinking is  Brad Pitt in a animated movie,  doesn't he usually go for the more blockbuster, shoot-em up movies, maybe he is doing it to entertain his children, but nevertheless its always good to see an actor change his normal trend and branch out. Megamind is released on the 3rd of December in all major cinemas.
